Adolescents and Social Media

As technological innovations continue to expand, access to devices that connect one to social media have become more readily available to the public. The increasing usage of social media networks is strongly affecting the social development of young adolescents. The effects social media is having on young adolescents is can be positive or negative depending on how the child is being exposed to it. For instance, social media positively affects adolescents by enabling them to build stronger social connections with their peers as they are able to easily stay connected to them. In contrast, these connections can also have a negative effect on the social development of young adolescents if they are victims of bullying or other damaging relationships because their abuser can easily remain connected to them.

In addition, the use of social media among young adolescents will also have an impact on their mental health as they can be exposed to unrealistic ideals of body image which can affect their self-esteem and have long term effect on their social development. One of the many benefits of the advances technology has made is the way in which people can remain connected and easily reached throughout the day. This indicates that young adults are able to remain connected to their friends outside of school hours, which aids their social development. By having access to devices in which social interactions can occur outside of a school setting, children and young adolescents are practicing social skills on a regular basis.

In contrast, although the use of social media networks has positive effects on the social development of young adolescents, there are also dangers that arise from using it. For example, if children are being victims of bullying, having access to social media can cause the aggressors to have another source at which to attack.

Another danger with young adolescents using social media is that their use may be uncensored and parents cannot always control what their children are doing or whom they are interacting with. For instance, children could be exposed to communicating with complete strangers they have never met, which could end up being predators. The problem with this is that social media is being used as a way to attract attention but in doing that, everyone on the internet is having access to these inappropriate photographs of young adolescents, whom are underage and with a possible lack of understanding of the dangers that may come with it. There are also factors that may affect young adolescent´s mental health in connection to their social development. For instance, social media can become addictive and impede children from face to face interactions or even as self-esteem problems and depression.
In conclusion, social media usage can affect the social development of young adolescents in many ways. Lastly, there can be many detrimental factors to social development when it comes to mental health. Social media should be used among young adolescents with a great deal of supervision and a high level of education about the dangers of social media, especially in a time where social media is easily accessed.

Have you ever bullied or been bullied?

If you have bullied or been bullied, then you should know how bullying feels like. If bullying impacts us as adults, you can imagine the potential damage that bullying can do to children or adolescents.
Bullying is very negative and creates major problems for our society. Nothing good comes out of bullying. It could very well change or ruin a person's life or self-esteem. In fact, it does ruin many people's lives. Kids can be mentally scarred if they are teased often. Even worse, they could be killed or fatally injured if the bullying gets extreme. Over the years we have seen more and more cases of young people who take their lives by not being able to deal with pressure from friends or classmates.

There are many causes for bullying which must be taken care of before bullying can be stopped. T.V. violence, families in poverty, and mis-teachings are just several of the many serious causes for bullying. Bullying must be stopped or prevented no matter how long it will take, it is a deeply concerning matter and looks like we are so used to acting in that way that we see it naturally these days.

Bullying does not always have to be childish play, although many start doing it as a simple game but also it can be extremely violent when it gets out of control. People may be bruised, injured, or even killed. Kids under bad influence may turn very violent. Parents, relatives, friends, T.V., music, internet and pictures may all influence people, especially when they are depressed or are in a lowered state of mind. Violence on T.V. is a very big influence, particularly the wrestling and fighting shows but above all, video games that are in creasingly violent and explicit, showing violence, death, blood, profanity so normally that it scares.
Also, T.V. shows are quite readily available for anyone to watch. Kids may try "moves" on people at school because they believe it's cool. As well, cooperation from childrens' parents is important, some parents actually encourage their children to fight to look cool or don't teach them properly.

Kids must take their own initiative, as well, they must find out what's wrong and what's right for themselves sometimes. Many kids don't take bullying seriously. However, when a real incident occurs, they are unprepared, shocked, regretful, or dead. For that reason, as parents, our role is very important, to strengthen the bonds of trust with our children, to maintain an open and fluid communication so that they feel free to trust us with any type of problem or situation, no matter how difficult it may be.
Bullying must stop, for it is destroying the lives and futures of many innocents, perhaps not killing them, but ruining them. People may end up physically distort others and start focusing in contribute positive things to other people lives. Let us remember that emotionally not everyone has the same strength, and although it seems like a funny comment to us, but it can negatively affect others.

Gun control

Gun Control

Living in world of constant conflicts, political turbulence, and uncertainty, arms limitation issue remains most debatable as well as controversial topic. Knowing how to write a gun control essay becomes difficult in both cases – either pro or against it. Firstly, one should explain one’s point and use arguments. Secondly, while writing research, it’s vital to analyze opposite opinions. Lastly, student should choose topic that would offer solutions and be persuasive enough to engage or inspire audience.

Studying hundreds of essays together with research papers from our top essay writers in Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Education, Healthcare, and Law, we came up with this gun control essay writing guide. Reading through each section will learn how to write introduction for essay, what has to be included, and see actual example of original essay, penned by our best essay writer. Gun control is one of the most controversial and emotional issues in many countries, with the debate often centring on whether regulations on an individual’s right to arms are an undue restriction on liberty and whether there is a correlation between guns and crime. Proponents of gun-control legislation assert that the strict enforcement of gun-control laws saves lives and reduces crime. By the other hand, opponents of gun control assert that minimal restrictions on guns ensure that individuals have adequate means for self-defense and that a wider distribution of firearms results in safer communities.

Gun control is an issue throughout the world, with each country having the sovereign authority to regulate firearms within its borders. The vast majority of industrialized countries have strict gun control regulations. One good example is Japan, Japan places restrictions on the possession and use of all firearms except in limited instances such as hunting, athletic events, and research. Another example is Canada, that permits the possession and use of firearms for competitions and target practice, but it forbids the possession of handguns unless an individual can show that a handgun is needed for self-defense. By the other hand, The United Kingdom has banned handguns altogether and limits the possession of firearms to activities such as hunting, target shooting, pest control, and slaughtering. Meanwhile, Germany permits the ownership of certain firearms so long as an individual meets the requirements for a firearms ownership license, which include that the applicant be age 18 or older and have expert knowledge in the handling of firearms and have the necessity to possess such firearms.

In conclusion, I believe that the government isn't protecting us enough. Based on the recent acts of homicides we've had, I believe it's amazing that citizens aren't concerned about this matter and they´re not even trying to do something to prevent more violence and assassins. A change in the gun use law wouldn't mean that the government is taking away our weapons or our right to own a gun, but protecting us through not allowing firearms to fall into the hands of killers and that will definitely make a change in countries with flexible laws.

Productive Workplace Environments

A healthy workplace environment is ideal when it comes to maintaining a positive outcome in a stressful atmosphere. The most important thing that influences employee motivation and happiness, and how productive and efficient they can be, all goes down to their working environment. A healthy workplace environment is good for your company as it could also lead to bringing sales for business. A healthy workplace environment improves productivity and reduces costs related to absenteeism, workers’ compensation, and medical claims. Healthy does not only constitute as needing medical attention, it could also be the outlook of the workplace and even the surroundings.
Just to mention a few aspects to look into when creating a healthy workplace environment.

Firstly, workplace culture, creating a happier corporate culture, every company has their own corporate culture that determines its value and it usually creates a standard that employees generally follow. When you have created a positive workplace culture that is being practiced by employees as well as yourself, the environment of the workplace tends to be healthier as everyone would have nothing to be upset or unhappy about. A great company culture can keep employees productive and even help your company retain the best employees and happy workers are also more likely to stick around.

Second, a physical environment, a healthy workplace environment also involves the physical environment of the office or workshop of your employees. Third, health and lifestyle practice, employees will care for the company they are working for if they know that they are being looked after. Employees are the best asset of every organization, and putting effort into employee wellness can encourage better teamwork, increased productivity and reduce sick leave and workplace accidents. And lastly, supportive workplace environment, everyone has personal problems and it is only human that some personal emotions get brought into the workplace. Try not to ignore them but instead, find the core of the problem and be a supportive employer by showing concern. Your employee may come in to work depressed due to a passing of a loved one, a terrible traffic jam when coming to work or they just had a terrible weekend.

As an employee, show compassion and be there for them. You do not need to sit by them the whole day, but by dropping an email, saying your doors are always open for them, shows that you not only care about the progress of the company, but you also care about the well-being of your employee. Remember that a supportive workplace culture is the foundation of a healthy workplace environment. A happy and healthy employee is a productive employee. People who enjoy their jobs are more likely to engage thoroughly with their work. As an employee, it is always in your best interest to keep your staff happy; otherwise, resentment could start to impact on the quality of their work or they may even consider leaving. And that can be avoided by just being empathic and comprehensive with the people around.

Why you choose your own classmate?

Some students do not prefer to have the university choose their roommate. However, as far as I am concerned, this is part of the university experience. Therefore, I would rather have the university assign a roommate to share a room with me. I base my views on the following reasons.

First of all, even though the university will assign, it is actually not totally a matter of chance. For instance, we all filled out information sheets. The school knows what we are majoring in, what our interests are, and our study habits and our goals. I think they are probably very good at matching roommates using this information. Besides, if a mistake is made, I can change my room assignment next semester.

Secondly, it is a lot of work to choose your own roommate. For example, if I did want to choose my own roommate, I would first pick some candidates from the list supplied by the university. Then I would write to them and they would write back. Through our letters, we would find out if we shared common interests, such as sports or movies. Because of my investigation, I would probably get someone compatible with me. However, it takes time and labor to go through, though. Besides, the process of finding similar interests is not all that different from what the university does.

Finally, trying to predict whom I am going to get along with is not a science. I might choose someone who sounds just like me and still find that the two of us just do not get along as roommates.

Besides, I think it would be boring to room with somebody who is just the same as me. I would rather be with someone who has different interests and likes to do different things. Maybe I would even get a roommate from another culture.

In conclusion, having the university choose a student to share a room is a far better choice for me. Assigning roommate in body may suit some students. However, I think it is always important to meet new people when we enter a university. Besides, another reason I am going to the university is to be exposed to a lot of new experiences. These new things would allow me mature in character.

Wordiness

Definitions

1.Wordiness is taking more words than necessary to make your point. It may take the form of redundant expressions or phrases. To be sure, longer expressions may be appropriate at times as a matter of style or to avoid ambiguity. But some business writers clutter their sentences and paragraphs with words, phrases, and expressions that needlessly distract the reader.

2.A redundant expression says the same thing twice, and doublespeak avoids getting directly to the point. Both are examples of wordy expressions. Other such expressions use more than one word when one word is simpler and more direct—for example, using the phrase in the vicinity of instead of near.

3.Wordiness is one of the most common ESL mistakes and happens when a writer, either intentionally or unintentionally, uses far too many words or unnecessarily complex or abstract words. Wordinesscan seriously detract from the coherency and quality of your writing and will likely frustrate your readers.

4.wordiness is a grammatical error in which extra words or phrases are added to a sentence unnecessarily. Concise writing is preferable because conciseness makes a sentence more understandable and easier to follow. Wordy sentences can be difficult to navigate and tough to comprehend.
